  • DPE supports BE-terna in its expansion

Munich/Innsbruck/Leipzig, November 27, 2018. DPE Deutsche Private Equity GmbH (DPE) is investing in the BE-terna Group, a leading full service provider of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.  In addition, BE-terna also implements business intelligence, customer relationship management and human resource management systems for its customers. The cloud solutions segment offers further growth opportunities. Since its founding in 2005, the BE-terna Group has seen steady growth, generating revenues of almost EUR 70 million with a workforce of around 500 employees in 12 locations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. With DPE’s support, BE-terna intends to enlarge its service portfolio through organic growth in its core segments and expand in the medium term through strategic acquisitions.

BE-terna as full service provider of cutting-edge technologies

CEO Christian Kranebitter: “In a market that is undergoing rapid technological change and consolidation, we view ourselves as a leading provider of technology solutions that are deeply embedded in the various corporate processes and necessitate an interdisciplinary approach.” He adds that growth is clearly in the interest of the customer. “In order to be able to map the spectrum of potential solutions and the latest technologies with a view to creating genuine added value for our customers, we want to continue on our growth trajectory,” Kranebitter says. In DPE the BE-terna Group has now found an investor and partner that will “use its buy-and-build experience and expertise to actively support the company with its continued expansion”. Kranebitter stated that, along with DPE’s experience in the growth of mid-sized companies, management was convinced by DPE’s entrepreneurial spirit and value orientation.

The management team will play a decisive role in the future as well

Christian Kranebitter is to promote the dynamic growth of the group as CEO in the future as well while remaining a shareholder of BE-terna. Similarly, DPE will involve the BE-terna Group’s management in the business enterprise. DPE partner Dr. Frank Müller: “The BE-terna Group is excellently positioned in the market to create genuine value added for its customers as a full service provider. We will promote the company’s further development through support with strategy and on the basis of a partnership.”

The transaction is still subject to the approval of the antitrust authorities.
